On October 14, 2017, The Peace Fund (founded in 1997 by Adrian Paul to Protect, Educate, Aid Children Everywhere) will hold it's 3rd Annual Peace Fund Poker Tournament at the Microsoft Headquarters in Los Angeles. This year, we are proud to be focusing our efforts to benefit children and schools affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. The recovery from the Hurricanes will be a marathon, not a sprint. We are dedicated to continuing to find ways to that we can help in what will be a very long-term recovery. Please continue to follow The PEACE Fund and PEACE Fund Radio to hear how we can all work together to help those in need.
Another beneficiary will be The Peace Fund's Interactive Storytelling Program which began in Los Angeles in July 2016. Adrian Paul read to over 45 children all ages 5 to 7 at the Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club. Children were engaged in literacy as Mr. Paul read and had the children act out one of the books titled, "Peter Pan." The children also received two books to take home where they can read them again and again. The Peace Fund will take the program into schools, preschool programs, child care facilities and other events to share the experience with other young children.
Lastly, proceeds will benefit our Peace Fund Radio...a 2-hour show that gives heartfelt insights into the issues facing our children today, such as homelessness, child cancer, autism, child safety, bullying, slavery, and hunger, to name but a few. We take the show to charities around the world to learn what they are doing to improve the lives of the children in their communities. The emotions in the voices are real, the kids heroes, highlighted every week, are inspiring and the celebrity involvement is passionate.
